Troldtekt joins SCHULBAU in Copenhagen
Architects and other professionals will exchange knowledge about school architecture across borders when the SCHULBAU trade fair comes to Denmark in June. Troldtekt is exhibiting at the fair, acting as a partner on a study trip for architects and sponsoring the trade fair’s student competition.
Danish schools are leading the way within digitalisation and sustainability. Therefore, its northerly neighbour has plenty of inspiration to offer to Germany, which will be investing approx. EUR 40 billion in renovating and building new schools between now and 2040. And this is why the SCHULBAU trade fair is being held in Denmark for the first time.
The trade fair is taking place on 13-14 June 2023 at Docken, which is situated in Copenhagen’s Nordhavn docklands district. During the two-day event, visitors can experience solutions designed for the school buildings for the future and listen to inspiring expert presentations and debates.
Exhibitors include Troldtekt, which has also been a frequent exhibitor at the SCHULBAU trade fairs in the largest German cities. On stand 16, you will find a selection of the Danish-produced Troldtekt acoustic panels, which for several decades have been a popular choice for Danish school buildings – and which have also been chosen for many German schools over the past decade.

Troldtekt has also been given space in a separate exhibition area where you can experience good acoustics and distinctive design. Here, you can also experience installations created from Danish red spruce, which for almost 90 years has been one of the raw materials in Troldtekt acoustic panels. This special exhibition is being held in the Lapidarium of Kings during the 3daysofdesign festival. Read more here.
Platinum in material health
At the fair, both Troldtekt design solutions and Troldtekt acoustic panels based on the carbon-reduced cement type FUTURECEM™ will be exhibited.
All Troldtekt acoustic panels – both in natural wood/natural grey and painted in standard colours – are Cradle to Cradle-certified at Gold level. In the material health category, the panels have even been certified at Platinum level, which is the highest level of Cradle to Cradle certification.
In connection with the certification, the panels have been tested for harmful substances down to 100 ppm. It has thus been thoroughly documented that Troldtekt acoustic panels are free of harmful substances, and that they therefore also contribute to a healthy indoor climate in, among other places, schools.
Study trip and competition exhibition
In connection with the trade fair in Copenhagen, SCHULBAU is arranging a study trip for German architects to the city on 11-14 June. Troldtekt is a partner on the trip, which is a chance for participants to meet Danish colleagues, experts, municipalities and others with extensive knowledge of successful school architecture.
The tour also includes visits to four Danish schools in the metropolitan area – including the extensively renovated Grøndalsvængets Skole and the recently extended Skolen på Islands Brygge.
Moreover, Troldtekt is sponsoring the SCHULBAU competition for students to try their hand at designing tomorrow’s school buildings. Visitors to the trade fair in Copenhagen can experience the six projects that have made it to the finals, and the winner will be announced during SCHULBAU in Hamburg in September.
