Modern new building for people in need of care
In the new residential park in Riedlingen (Germany), senior citizens can spend their evenings in a bright and friendly atmosphere.
The need for care facilities for senior citizens is great everywhere - even in the small town of Riedlingen in Baden-Württemberg on the southern edge of the Swabian Alb there is a shortage of long-term and short-term care places. St. Elisabeth gGmbH responded to this need and commissioned the construction of a state-of-the-art residential park for EUR 14 million.
Flat roof construction with 42 care places and apartments suitable for the elderly
Under the construction management of the engineering office for construction in Sigmaringen and under the leadership of the architectural office Reck in Biberach, a two-storey flat roof construction has been built on the site of the former district hospital, which stands out from the green surroundings with its dark façade and white window frames. On the ground floor, numerous floor-to-ceiling windows provide a view from barrier-free terraces and gardens.
In total, the residential park offers space for 42 people in long-term or short-term care in three residential groups, with all residents accommodated in single rooms. There is also a floor with 14 apartments for assisted living suitable for senior citizens.
Wooden elements and natural wallpapers for a homely atmosphere
Inside, the new building is characterised by a spacious, open and bright design and is fitted with state-of-the-art equipment. In addition to an inviting foyer, large communal areas, lounges and dining rooms, the new residential park also has a care bath with a hairdressing table, as well as a meeting room and a care centre for employees.
Wooden elements on the light walls exude a pleasant, homely atmosphere and harmonise with light brown and grey floors, while some coloured furniture adds further positive accents. Natural wallpapers are also used in the light-flooded viewing room with a view of nature and the pilgrimage church, which, in combination with the wooden elements, contribute to the natural ambience. The Troldtekt acoustic panels painted in white installed on the ceiling fit perfectly into the overall design and add to the feel-good atmosphere.
