Plenty of happy pensioners
Between Ringkøbing town in Denmark and the open countryside are 24 newly built terraced houses. They have proven to be an appealing form of housing for people who have moved out of large housing units and want a local community.

On a large green expanse, the four rows of homes are built in brick with pitched roofs. The homes open up towards the common driveway, where everyone has a small terrace and a carport combined with a shed. The homes are designed in a way that creates an openness that appeals to the community and at the same time offer the privacy of a detached house. Residents have quickly discovered how to share lawn mowers and help each other out.
The homes, built by property developer Jesper Bo Tranberg, were quickly snatched up and more homes with the same concept are in the pipeline.
Acoustics are essential
The terraced houses are almost identical, but vary between 95 and 105 m2. In addition to the open-plan kitchen and living room, there is a large bedroom, a smaller guest room, utility room and bathroom. The pitched ceilings are clad with white Troldtekt acoustic panels, providing good acoustics in all rooms. At the same time, the structure provides a visually softer surface that suits the homes.
One couple says they are happy to move into their new terraced house, and as they also had Troldtekt in their previous home, they are very satisfied with the panels here on Rindumsgaards Allé. The homes differ with some having the high windows facing south and others north, but the size of the homes means that there is always sufficient daylight.
