Your gaze follows the lines of the house
The view is the focal point of the entire villa’s architecture and the spatial organisation of its plot. This is with good reason, as the residence is located right next to Flensborg Fjord in Kollund.

With a view of the varied nature of the fjord, birdlife, ship traffic and the city of Flensburg on the other side, it is understandable that Hans Henrik Hesse was able to see the potential in this plot. From the entrance there is a long view through the house directly to the water. The children’s bedrooms are located on this level, as well as a living room with glass panels reminiscent of an orangery in the centre of the house. The water can also be seen from here, if the TV is lowered into its hiding place.
The ceiling continues as you go down four steps, increasing the ceiling height. It's an impressive space, where you can also slide the large patio doors aside and feel the sea breeze. The dining area has been given a more intimate space with a lower ceiling height that nicely differentiates the use of the room. The view can also be enjoyed from the home's gym and main bathroom, which is close to the pool and sauna.
Precision in the details
The view, along with the house's size, provide an inviting setting, but it is the details of the house that make it special. As a carpenter, Hans Henrik Hesse has a passion for detail, and walnut became the inspiration for kitchen handles and mouldings along the edge of the ceiling.
All ceilings, along with the garage and overhangs, are clad in Troldtekt based on FUTURECEM grey 208. v-line is used along the length of the house, which finely emphasises its orientation, but breaks up the large surface area. Along the wall, Troldtekt panels have been added without grooves, but with the sharp K0-U bevel. This type of panel has been used exclusively in the dining area niche, which creates a beautiful variation of the surface. Large skylights were fitted into the ceiling to give the home the optimal amount of daylight.
