The future requires surroundings with a lower climate footprint
At the faculty of Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation (ITC) in Enschede, architecture, functionality, and sustainability initiatives come together in a dynamic learning environment.

From an old laboratory to modern educational facilities. The ITC faculty at the University of Twente has undergone a major transformation to create a vibrant and inspiring learning space for students and researchers from all over the world.
Situated in a vigorous area, the faculty’s transformation combines architecture and landscape. With large spacious atria that connect the indoors with the outdoors, the building comes alive. Each atrium has its own distinct character, contributing to a stress-free and stimulating working environment. To complement the warmth of wood and the open spatial concept, high-performance Troldtekt line panels in black have been seamlessly integrated into the design. The panels are Cradle to Cradle Certified at Gold level.
Furthermore, the 2-layer combi panel Stertekt Plus has been chosen for the project. This panel is made of a 25 mm Troldtekt acoustic panel and a layer of mineral wool.
Both types of panels strike the perfect balance between superior acoustics and natural aesthetics, ensuring a calm and pleasant environment for students and lecturers alike to whom concentration, collaboration and communication are key.
